Findern Historical Walk.
A short evening stroll around our wildlife sites and along the Trent & Mersey Canal. Meet at the Village Green at 7pm. This event is organised as part of the National Forest Walking Festival. Small charge applies.
Follow the clues as we make our way from the Village Green to the Nadee Restaurant. Fancy dress optional. There will be prizes for the first correct answers and for the best fancy dress. Medals for all finishers!This walk starts on the VIllage Green at 11am. Tickets MUST be bought in advance from group members or Findern PO, priced £3 each or £10 per family.

Balsam Bashing! Meet at the Nadee Restaurant in Heath Lane to help us rid our canal towpath of this invasive pest.
Group members will be going to County Offices Matlock as part of the Derbyshire County Council's Big Society In Action Event.
We are going along to find out about plans to help support small groups with big ideas. We hope to see some great examples of activities and action by small groups - showing how a little support can go a long way.
The County Council will also be launching theirr Excellence in the Community Awards 2012 and giving us the opportunity to network with county councillors and other community representatives.

Trails, quizzes and outdoor activities
This session will include tree trails and basic tree ID, and how to set up trails on your site, all led by the Environmental Education Project. Most of the meeting will be outdoors.

We shall be recording the species of bats which fly along the Trent & Mersey Canal here in Findern. This survey is in partnership with Derby Bat Conservation Group and Mercia Marina Wildlife Group.

Join the group on a leisurely circular walk visiting the wildlife sites managed by the group on behalf of Findern Parish Council. The walk then joins the Trent and Mersey canal towpath for the walk back to the village. The walk is about 3 miles long. This walk is free and is part of the Wild Derby Programme.
