What Have Trees Ever Done For Us?'

Join us on this guided walk led by Debbie Alston. entitled  'What have trees ever done for us."  We shall be  looking at the history and folklore surrounding some of our favourite native trees.

Meet at Lower Green 10 am. Tickets available from group members or Findern Post Office, priced £3.

'Fun on the Green'.  Join group members and Derbyshire Countryside Service for some FREE seasonal activities for half term fun. See the animals in the mini zoo, join in with some seasonal crafts, see some pole latheing and have your face painted (small charge).

Refreshments available in Findern Methodist Chapel.

Findern Green,1pm - 3 pm. All welcome.

Our monthly meeting will be held in the Parish Rooms, Findern from 7am. We shall be welcoming Georgina Greaves, Derbyshire County Council Environmental Studies Officer to this meeting. All welcome.

This meeting of the South Derbyshire Environmental Forum will be held at Rosliston Forestry Centre from 12.15-4pm. We shall be looking at organising outdoor conservation tasks. Lunch in the cafe or bring your own.

We shall be meeting Zoe Sewter Open Spaces Officer SDDC, to plan our Flower Power Project for 2014. This involves minimising mowing to allow the wildflowers to come through and planting nectar-producing flowers.

Findern/Mercia Marina Circular Walk, meet on Findern Green at 1.30 pm for a 3-4 mile walk to Mercia Marina and back. This walk has been organised as part of the National Forest Walking Festival 2014.

AThsmeetngof South Derbyshire District Council's Environmental Forum gives us a chance  to learn basic skills in identification with the Environmental Education Project team using the Rosliston tree trail and the Centre’s new electronic bird sound/ picture system.

Come and meet us at the opening of the new Boardwalk at Mercia Marina. the opening event is on all weekend, but we will be there from 9.30am in the morning.

We shall be planting ramson and wild daffodil bulbs in Jubilee Wood alongside the rent & Mersey canal. Meet at the Nadee restaurant at 10am. Please bring a spade and wear strong footwear.

We shall be building a boardwalk in the bird orchard alongside Ballast Hole Pond. Meet at the Nadee at 10am. This event will be going on all day, so drop in for a short time if you wish!
