 13th February 2016 - Saturday 10am

Group members will be meeting at the Nadee Restaurant and 10 am to carry out a littler pick along the Trent and Mersey canal towpath.

 29th February 2016 - Monday 11am

Group members will be joining Findern Parish Council as they plant a tree to commemorate the 90th birthday and long reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II. The planting will take place on King George Playing Field, junction of Willington Road and Heath Lane, Findern DE65 6AS. Saturday 29th February 2016 at 11 am. Please come along if you can.

5th March 2016 - Saturday 10 am

Group members will be touring our sites and removing all damaged/no longer necessary tree shelters. Meet on Lower Green at 10 am.

Launch of the Green Dog Walking scheme. Further details will be added when finalised.

Join us for some fun time on Hillside Playing Field including a Teddy Bears Picnic, kite flying and other outdoor activities.

3 Marinas Circular Walk in aid of Rainbows Hospice and SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Airmans Families Association). Meet at the bandstand Mercia Marina between Willington and Findern, DE65 6DW, grid ref SK297288 and join the Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council on a charity walk of 3.5 miles or 7 miles from the Marina to Findern then on the  towpath to Stenson Marina and then back towards Willington. The short walk returns to Mercia Marina via Potlocks Bridge whilst the long walk continues to Willington and then back to the Marina. The terrain is uneven in places and very muddy after heavy rain. £5 adult, child free, concessions £3. Group members will be meeting volunteers from the Canal and River Trust at 10 am on the canal towpath to assist with the removal of the invasive Himalayan Balsam.

 16th July 2016

Group members will be meeting members of the Canal and River Trust at 10 am on the towpath to install signs indicating that the group have adopted the section of the towpath from Hicklin's Bridge to the Nadee.

18th July 2016

Group members will be joining staff, parents and pupils from Findern Pre School at 10 am in Cardales Meadow for a 'Bug Hunt'. Magnifying glasses advisable!

 20th July 2016

Group members will be meeting at the Nadee at 6.30 pm to carry on doing battle with the Himalayan Balsam.

Saturday 22nd October 2016

Group members will be accompanying members of the Derbyshire Bat Conservation Group as they check the bat boxes on our wildlife sites and the canal towpath. Meet at the Nadee at 10 am

Wednesday 26th October 2016 1 pm to 3 pm Fun on the Green

Come along and see the owls and if you've a mind you can have a look at their poo and see what they've been eating! There will be number of other activities including willow weaving and face painting. Most are free but a small charge may be made for some activities. Refreshments will be available in the Methodist Chapel.
