A great time was had by everyone who attended the last meeting of the South Derbyshire Environmental Foum held in Findern recently. The meeting was held on the Trent and Mersey Canal towpath. We had an enjoyable afternoon listening to British Waterways staff who told us aboiut the canal system before setting us to work building bird boxes, clearing litter and cutting back vegetation.
The meeting was attended by Cllr Michael Stanton, Chair South Derbyshire District Council who thanked all the volunteers forl their efforts across the district throughout the year. We are grateful to the Nadee Restaurant who laid on a buffet lunch and tea and coffee and to Mercia Marina for their help with the afternoon.
