Group members have been working hard pulling out or cutting down the swathes of himalayan balsam that is growing near our streams and canals. This attractive plant which was introduced by the victorians is very invasive. It is so prolific that the native flora and flora that we should be seeing are being crowded out.
Althogh we are still seeing this plant, our efforts over previous summers are indicating that there is less of it than previously.
