Plans are well advanced for our autumn planting programme. We shall be planting 1000 wild daffodil and 200 ramson bulbs in Jubilee Wood, along the towpath and 300 primrose plants in Stanhope Wood during the next few weeks. We shall also be sowing more hay rattle in Cardales Wildflower Meadow. This parasitic plant helps to reduce the vigorous grasses that prevent the native wildflowers from coming through.
Thank you to Repton School for funding this planting programme.
We are also planning to plant some native trees and shrubs on the grassland behind Wren Park Close and Aults Close. This will encourage biodiversity, add to the attractiveness of the area and reduce the amount of mowing undertaken.
