Liz was a founder member of the Findern Footpaths Group in 1998 and since that time has raised many thousands of pounds to help improve the environment. As a result of her work we can now enjoy a delightful walk taking in Cote Close Bird Sanctuary, Cardales Wildflower Meadow, Stanhope Wood and Stanhope Hole Conservation Area as well as the new Jubilee Wood and Ballast Hole Pond along the Trent and Mersey Canal towpath. Ten miles of footpaths are now accessible to more members of the community as Liz has obtained permisson from landowners and sufficient funding to ensure that most stiles have been replaced with kissing gates or 'A' frames and bridges have been built over wet areas. Liz has worked tirelessly on behalf of the community and is thoroughly deserving of this prestigious award. Well done Liz.
