Minutes of the last meeting held on 19 January 2006: These were agreed as a true record.
Finance and fundraising: We have applied for £2500 from Biffaward.
Notifications and correspondence: The Group are delighted to have been nominated for a Green Heroes Award by the BTCV. We have written a letter of thanks to Network Rail for repairing the fence, also to BTCV for their help with constructing the dipping platform.
Thanks were expressed to our Beat Officer PC Paul Martin who is leaving.
Kate Allies has notified the group of the BBC Breathing Spaces Campaign. It was agreed to participate.
The walks leaflet being produced in partnership with Derbyshire Countryside Service is nearly complete. £400 will need to be raised to produce 5000 copies.
Wildflower bank: Seed is to be purchased and sown as soon as possible.
.Some of the seed is to be grown in boxes, and some withheld to replace failed seeding.
Ballast Hole Pond: We are meeting our funders to show them the project on 27 February.
Ragwort Removal: Special tools are to be purchased. We hope to participate in a campaign being organised by BHS.
Mowing: With the onset of Spring, a mowing rota is to be organised.
National Nestbox Week: Further bat and bird boxes were put up. There was evidence of usage in existing boxes.
Bridlepath diversion, Crow Park way: Concern was expressed about requests from horseriders to ride an additional 8ft each side of the metalled surface. The banks are unstable and have been planted over the years to the value of £4000.
Snowdrop Extravaganza: Snowdrops and heathers to be planted as sson as the weather permits.
