The current account stands at £1,746.47 with £150 to come from the Parish Council.
Seymour said this would be actioned tomorrow (5/9/08)
Liz stated that the “Awards for All” application form had been returned due to an error in its completion but as the information board and seed had now been funded from other sources there was no point in resubmitting the application and that a new application should be submitted in the New Year for other items. This was agreed.

7.National Walking Festival 2008
The minutes had been forwarded to all.
The festival next year will take place Saturday May 16 to Monday May 25th 2009.
The next meeting of the Steering Group will take place at Rosliston at 10.00 am on September 25th. This had become a National Forest event and Findern is not in the National Forest. It was suggested that this might change in the future.
It was resolved to attend Steering Committee meetings when possible and to do the walks.
There was a suggestion to include a longer and different walk.
Public Right of Way /Stile Replacement
Liz stated that mowing had been completed on footpaths 10 & 5.
Dave Adkins was being consulted re clapper gates for Turnpike Way. He believes he has funding for a stile replacement programme on footpaths 3,4,5 & 1 and has stated that Andy Laxton’s help is awaited with this.
Andy stated it will be a matter of finding the time.
All four kissing gates were still in place after they had been “welded in”.
Andy suggested that all gates should be marked in some way. This could be smart water or simply indelible felt tip.
Andy suggested that it would be a good idea to address “way marking” on Priory Way recognising that there were some difficulties with this right of way. That it was partly in Derby City and that there were blockages and unofficial diversions.
Andy said that he hoped to get all parties together to resolve matters. This might mean involving legal people and could take some time. It was agreed that it is not possible to put out a leaflet while matters remain unresolved.
8.Times Past Walk
This would start at Derby Moor School at 2.00 pm on 14th September – it would visit the monastery site. Four “bodies” were required. It was resolved that these be Neville, Sheila, Seymour and Mary – weather permitting. The walk should take about an hour so tea would be ready for 3.00 pm. Nev, Wendy and Joan agreed to pre walk the route to ensure everything is in order – others may join them on Monday at 10.00 am
·Cardales Meadows – all ready to go. The meadow has been cut and baled and is now ready for scraping and seeding. Mr Hicklin was to be asked to harrow the site.
·Village of the Year - £150 was to come to the Footpaths group from the Parish Council. A Newsletter was proposed . Group members to explore the costings.
·Make a Difference Day – October 28th. An activity is needed. This was deferred to the next meeting.
· 10.Wildlife Bank
Joan had received only one report.
This will take place on October 2nd at 7.00 pm – Wendy to Chair.
