ii) Joan stated that a letter had been received from Derbyshire County Council informing us that they had awarded the group a Greenwatch Action Grant of £424 for bat boxes. We are extremely grateful to DCC for this award and it is hoped that we will have the bat boxes for installation on 17th March 2012 when members of Derbyshire Bat Conservation Group are coming to check our existing boxes.
iii) Joan stated that the DCC Community Action Grant money was almost spent but that we still had to purchase the banners. Liz had e-mailed Caliba for sizes and prices and we have money for either 2 banners 10’ x 1’ or 1 banner 10’ x 2’. It was agreed that the bigger banner would be more suitable and perhaps the wording should be ‘Join us for a countryside event’ with enough blank space left for filling in the appropriate details.
