i) SDDC Environmental Forum, 2nd October 2014
Liz Lenton, Jan, Janet and Joan attended and had a really good day at Calke. Bill explained about the park being awarded a Woodland Improvement Grant and what this entailed. Jen had been out early and set some mammal traps and when these were checked before lunch 3 bank voles were found and released. The traps were reset and examined again in the afternoon and 4 bank voles were found in residence and again released. During this discussion it was suggested that it would be nice to have an idea of the mammal population on our sites so it was agreed to invite Jen to visit us here and give her advice. Jan agreed to write 50 words about the visit for inclusion on the group’s Facebook page.
Resolved: Joan will liaise with Kate Allies re arranging for Jen to visit.
